Pad printing is a process whereby ink is flooded into the etched area of the plate, then the ink-filled image is picked up onto a silicon pad and transferred to the object. The pad printing process can print in a crisp, clear manner even on irregular or uneven surfaces such as a golf ball. Resin plates are also available (for small lot production such as sample making).
